Who do people say I am?

THE WORD ON THE STREET IS...

REPUTATION: a widespread belief that someone or something has a particular habit or characteristic.

TRUST: to put confidence in, swear by, to depend upon, to expect help from, to lean on, to be sure about, to put faith in.

It is so true that your name will go before you.  People will know about you way before they even meet you.  A person's reputation is made from their name and their past actions  (Track Record).  I am learning to trust God based on his reputation. I'm building up my trust in God by spending time with him in his word and in prayer. Trusting God is built on faith.

Below is a list of God's Names and his past actions that have given him a great track record (Reputation).

Now God has shown himself through his word to be all the names he is known for.  If I was to walk up to anybody and ask who you are, what would they say?  What has proceeded before you?  I'm not just talking about gossip and backbiting.  I'm talking about that real stuff that makes up your character.  Can you be trusted? Do your past actions have people questioning and doubting you?  Lord Help Me!

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Now I need to go back and check my track record.  We always confess that we are made in God's image and likeness and that we are his ambassadors.  So now it's time for a self-assessment.  Are my inconsistencies making it where others can't see God, won't see God, and don't see me as an extension of his love?  Am I giving God a bad rep because I call myself a Christian, but not living according to his word so I look just like everyone else around me?

So I ask, Who do men say I am?

God, I repent for being a false witness to who you are. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, My Lord, My rock, and My Redeemer. Exam my heart God show me the areas that I have allowed myself to compromise and not be obedient to you. The areas that have caused me to be a stumbling block to myself and others. Lord, help me to see the unforgiveness in my heart that is causing me to react and act outside of your will. Help me to see others through lenses of compassion as you see them so I can respond to them through the love of Christ. Help me to stop allowing past hurts and disappointment guide me down a path of unrighteousness. Continue to show me myself. Lord forgive me for my double-minded ways. I thank you, Father, that when we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. I thank you, Father, that as I continue on this path of humility, prayer, seeking, and repentance, you promise to hear and heal. So, Father, I thank you for your healing so that I can be a true reflection of your love on the earth so through my life others will experience the healing and redemptive power of your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
